David Chen

Housing Records Reporter

David works from the paper trail — tribunal orders, corporate filings, building inspection scores and the ownership chains behind them. He covers what the record shows about a landlord: how often they file to evict, what an adjudicator found, and fancy holding structures. His interest is in the gap between a portfolio's public face and its docket, and how transparency works to help tenants. He came to Renterly from data journalism, and still thinks the most useful thing you can do with a housing story is publish the underlying rows.

Covers: Landlord and Tenant Board decisions · Tribunal orders and eviction filings · Corporate landlord ownership structures · RentSafeTO building evaluations · Beneficial ownership and numbered companies · Tenant rights enforcement · Housing data and public records
